DISCOVER THE JOY OF LEARNING AND PLAY
Qualified Linguist and skilled tutor, Myli Schlebusch has written and illustrated a colorful
interactive picture book series filled with super easy, fun ways to teach children the 26
foundational sounds of the English Alphabet.
The aim of the writer is to inspire innovation and creativity where children will be encouraged to
go beyond the pages of the books, keep discovering and love doing so all while laying a strong
foundation to remember the English Letter Sounds.
No matter their age, these products will make it super easy for them to learn.
It is adaptable to each age level.
This method will set them up to start reading any words both easy and later more difficult by
applying the basic phonetic principles.
With the guidance and inspiration of you their parent or tutor they’ll simply fall in love with
reading.
The books will be one of the most rewarding gifts you’ll ever give your child.
As Jacqueline Kennedy once said: “There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love
of books is the best of all.”
So, give them the passport to a world of countless adventures!
They need you to open this wonderful world to them, because children are made readers on the
laps of their parents. We will introduce each individual letter sound in both upper- and lowercase.
While learning the letter sounds in a particular order they will be ready to start building simple
words.
THE BOOK SERIES AND PHONICS COURSE OVERLAP TO ENCOURAGE REPETITION, BUT THE COURSE
PROGRESSES INTO BUILDING WORDS AND SENTENCES WITH THE HELP OF THE LEARNING AIDS. THIS CAN BE
SCALED ACCORDING TO THE child’s abilities.
THE COURSE ALSO covers ALL THE LETTER SOUNDS and variations.
Fun and easy rhymes and alliterations will help them memorize and associate with the letter sound
and repeating similar sounds will lay a firm foundation to spell words. Children can also create
their own rhymes and even songs to encourage creativity and innovation.
THIS IS THE PERFECT, READY-TO-USE TOOL FOR ESL, TEFL AND OTHER ONLINE ENGLISH TEACHERS
“I believe in making strong visual associations.
I also encourage short simple lessons to keep them focussed and rather repeat the same lesson a
few times if they struggle with anything. I cannot emphasise it enough that quality over quantity
will bring amazing results! It is very important that they can remember and recognize each letter
sound clearly without hesitation.”-Myli
Always stay patient and encouraging, this will ensure their success!
Last but definitely not least, come alongside them and have fun.

PLAY GUIDE
Introducing the Letter Sound
Point to the image inside the letter sound & ask “What do you see inside the letter?”
Confirm their answer by repeating after them.
Ask: “Can you hear the /a/ sound?”
Then say Big A while pointing - let them repeat and say little A - let them repeat a few times
Remember that this is just their very first association with the Letter Sound, but they need to be
introduced to the proper reading/printed form of the letter soon after so that they don’t get
too familiar with the picture inside the letter in the beginning stages.
For some children it could be difficult to then see the letter without the picture.
- So, always bring the first and second images together and say the name of the Letter Sound.
The third exercise shows both on the same page - this is just to bring the two versions together.
- If strong associations are aproached correctly, children should never be left confused.
(Let’s use the /Aa/ sound for this example)
The page with the 4 PRINTED WORDS should be used for the student to just listen to
the words and then repeat by matching the words with the images.
Even though they see the complete words, you shouldn’t focus on spelling or
reading for now - just listen and repeat the words to hear the Letter Sound.
When it comes to thinking of more words with this particular Letter Sound, be as
creative as possible and have fun. Even if they make up their own words, just go
with it, as long as they are encouraged to brainstorm and have fun.
Use books or pictures or objects around you to have enough words.
You could also gather the objects before you start playing the game.
This will be great, because the more you stimulate the better.
Let’s think of more words
with the /z/ sound
APPLE
ANT
ARROW
ANCHOR
When it comes to the alliterations and rhymes let them rhyme, clap, sing and hop
etc. - just have fun with them even if it feels completely silly.
You are creating memories and building their confidence. Be very aware to not
laugh at them or make fun of their creativity, this will break their self-esteem.
They love it when you play with them,
so this is the perfect opportunity to make it count
Did you hear all the /a/ sounds?
Now let’s make our own rhymes with the /a/ sound
The little clouds with lots more sounds should also just be for listening to the
sounds for now. The whole aim is to let them hear the specific Letter Sound and
that it can be found in different parts of words as well. Find more words to add
to the little clouds and only focus on the Letter Sound for now.
We’ll get to the rest once they know the 26 basic letter sounds well.
As explained in the SEE IN ENGLISH ONLINE COURSE when playing
the Letter and Hat game,
it is essential to have your beads (2 sizes) ready to play.
When introducing the FOLLOW MY LEAD game, let the student stand behind you
as you make the complete arm movement. You can first do it on the image
using the arm the student prefers to use and then make the movement big so
that they can feel the Letter Sound while making the Letter Sound. It is vital
that you repeat the Letter Sound for every singe arm movement. So if the
Letter Sound has 3 arm movements, you need to say the Letter Sound 3 times.
Let’s play FOLLOW MY LEAD

So many fun ways to
make /b/ sounds
Use some crayons or
paint to make
your own
/b/ sound cut-outs
This game encourages children to craft their own Letter Sounds by finding them
in magazines or designing their own. Let the make at least 3x BIG- and 3x
small Letter Sounds by using paint, glue, scissors and crayons. They should all
look different. This game not only enhances recognition, but is also the
beginning of research, association, concentration and so much more.
They all need names starting with the /b/ sound.
Will you give each one a special name?
Let their imaginations run free! No right or wrongs, instead encourage them to
think outside the box by initiating some ideas for names. Let them laugh and
have fun thinking of crazy names to give the little characters of this completely
different style of Letter Sounds. The aim of the game is for them to learn
brainstorming and ideation while still establishing strong associations with the
Letter Sound. You can even go further by making up little stories by including
the added illustrations, for e.g. the bees/balloons etc.

The aim of this game is to introduce children to writing. It is important for them to recognize
that the letters form a pattern. This should teach them that when the letters are printed for
reading they will always look the same in the text. When they start writing it is important
that they learn to do so neatly and rhythmically. In our online course SEE IN ENGLISH -LEARN
TO READ (Udemy) you will find printable resources and links to videos that teach them the
word forms. Print a few of each so that they can practise by writing over the letters after
they have watched the videos that show them how to do it.
Each activity in the book aims to be engaging and imaginative, serving as a
roadmap for students to explore beyond the pages. It encourages them to think
critically and empowers them to extend their ideas to other games. The goal is to
make ideation a natural and ongoing process, inspiring them to create and play,
even if it's only in their imagination.

VERY IMPORTANT!
We want our children to stay excited and feel empowered by not boring them
with learning the same thing in the same way 26 times in a row. We encourage
ingroducing the Letter Sounds in a specific order which will enable them to start
building simple words quite quickly, even before they’ve gone through all 26
Letter Sounds. You won’t start with the first letter of the alphabet.
All the info and resources are compiled in our online course,
‘SEE IN ENGLISH-LEARN TO READ’ (Udemy).
